Sorry to interupt! But I have finally finished my HC :) Al and Lily looked at each other as they approached the Gargoyle statue, which led to Professor McGonagall’s office. They both had never been inside the office, but knew of what was in there from the personal recounts by their beloved older brother, James. Al said the password and watched as a flight of stairs appeared. Being the courteous older brother, he allowed Lily to go up the stairs first then followed her up. Once they were to the top of the stairs, they saw a door open and the Headmistress walk out with an unhappy James. “What has he done now?” Al sighed wearily as he pushed his glasses up against his nose. He knew his brother had a tendency to get into trouble because of the pranks he did on Filch. “You’re brother is feeling ill, now why don’t you and Lily go inside, Albus, while I take James to the Hospital Wing.” McGonagall replied before escorting a groaning James down the stairs. “Come on Al, let’s go in.” Lily said as she grabbed her brother’s hand and practically dragged him into the room. She looked around the room and then walked up to McGonagall’s desk. She gazed at the various photo frames and then looked at the sword of Gryffindor which hung off to the left side of the desk. She walked over to it and touched the handle. “What do you think you’re doing?” came a cold voice as both of the younger Potter children flinched and turned to see a sour looking man in the portrait behind the desk. Al stepped towards the portrait and read the name out loud “Severus Snape?” “Congratulations, it seems this generation of Potter’s are quite gifted… Well except for some.” Snape replied sarcastically. “Al, go and tell him what your name is.” Lily said. “Indeed, do tell us what your name is.” demanded Snape. “My name is Albus Potter.” “Your FULL name Al.” Lily replied. Snape gazed down at the little girl and refrained from chuckling. She was just like her grandmother, sweet but also fiery. Then he shifted his gaze to Al and arched an eyebrow. “My name is Albus Severus Potter. My father named me after the bravest man he had ever known.” The smirk on Snape’s face vanished as he stared at the boy. “So Potter thinks I am brave? Well that’s quite nice of him to say that.” “My father told me that when I first started at Hogwarts. I was reluctant about being sorted into Slytherin,” Al said as his green eyes glimmered in the candle light. “He said that one of the Headmasters whom I had been named after was a Slytherin, and was the bravest man he had ever known.” Snape nodded, slowly digesting the information. Then he turned his gaze back to Lily. “And what’s your name?” “Lily Luna Potter.” she chirped happily. “What houses are you in?” “Both in Slytherin,” Al said brightly. “Lily and I are excelling in both Defence Against the Dark Arts and Potions.” Snape nodded again, he could see the potential in both of them. He knew that when Al reached his fifth year, he would be named Head Boy for Slytherin, and the same for Lily. They had the determinacy and courage that Harry had as a student. But also the kindness and thoughtfulness of their grandmother, Lily. “It was nice meeting you Professor Snape.” Al said kindly. Snape inclined his head to Al and smiled down at Lily. ~TA Lil Cornish Tinkerbell.
