Sound and Electronics friends - Im looking for some advice: I am getting a fairly serious buzz when I set up karaoke at a particular venue. I suspect its a power issue, but Im not positive (heh). Heres the details... -Same equipment does not cause buzz at different venue. -All equipment powered from the same surge protecting power strip (pretty sure this is the case, I will double check this). Speakers plugged into mixer and power. Laptop into mixer and power. Mixer into power. -There is a video component to this - a pc/tv video converter is used to connect to both a VGA monitor (also plugged into our power) and RCA tv (the venues). Originally we thought it might have been a poorly shielded RCA cable. Replaced that cable. Buzz is better, but still present. Disconnected from said RCA tv - buzz still present to the same degree. Far as Im aware that tv is still on the electrical circuit though - its an older bar I assume theyre the same circuit based on physical proximity. My plan at this point is to get a replacement power strip surge protector. Also I am considering trying a ground lift. Next time I can try plugging it into a different outlet, but Im concerned that other nearby outlets are on the same circuit, but I will try it. My current surge protector is indicating that the outlet we used was grounded. Anyway, thats all I can think to share about this issue right now. Help? Thanks! -Z
