Sounds of the Season Concert The choirs of Lincoln Academy will present their annual “Sounds of the Season” program on Sunday, December 14, 7:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Newcastle. Directed by Beth Preston and accompanied by Sean Fleming, the 60+ voices of Lincolnaires, Concert Choir, and Cameo Treble Choir will join forces to sing songs of the holiday season. Included on the program will be featured soloists and instrumentalists from the choral groups as well as guest instrumentalists, Chuck McGregor, Bass, and Doug Kennedy, percussion. The program represents a mix of seasonal selections from many cultures. Pieces to be performed are Three Spanish Christmas Carols, Personent Hodie, Here We Come a-Wassailing, The Seal Lullaby, Go Where I Send Thee! and many, many more. The audience will be invited to sing along with some of the traditional Christmas carols. This concert is a annual community favorite that packs the sanctuary. It’s advisable to arrive early. The Damariscotta-Newcastle Rotary Club will once again lend a hand as ushers at the door. Admission is by suggested donation of $10 for families, $5 for individuals. All donations will go toward the choir Festival Competition Tour to New York City. The students hope the community will give generously to support this great opportunity. They have been working hard sing September to prepare for this concert and the tour.
