He and other engg college chairmans in the district formed a cartel to keep the staff wages low and they keep the salary pending for long time often paying once in 3 or 4 months. Despite starting his first engg college Jayaram College of Engg & Tech in 1995 , this college is still in abysmal state and he opened another college Oxford. Then he bought Angalamman engg college. When he contested last assembly elections from Mannachanallur he forced his college staff and students to campaign for him. He also forced all the first year students to buy laptops via college. Also the students who get selected in campus recruitment are forced to pay Rs 30000 as recruitment development cell fee, otherwise they will not get proper internal marks in final semester.
