South Australia -- Severe Weather Warning -- UPDATE SEVERE WEATHER WARNING for DAMAGING WINDS For people in the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East and parts of the West Coast and Yorke Peninsula districts. Issued at 5:02 am Saturday, 17 August 2013. A deep low pressure system well south of SA is responsible for a broad westerly airstream. Vigorous fronts embedded in this westerly flow will affect southern South Australia at times this weekend, bringing periods of heavier showers, thunderstorms and some small hail. Localised damaging wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible in the warning area, mostly associated with showers and thunderstorms. Locations which may be affected include Port Lincoln, Warooka, Kingscote, Adelaide, Murray Bridge and Mount Gambier. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Move vehicles under cover or away from trees; * Secure or put away loose items around your property. * Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
