South on Main used to be a well known rock club in Little Rock - TopicsExpress

South on Main used to be a well known rock club in Little Rock called Juanitas (Green Day, we were told, played there many years ago along with many other bands that we all know and love) and now it has been rehabbed into a really great music venue/really great restaurant with renown chef, Matthew Bell, serving as the executive chef. It’s owned by the venerable southern magazine of good writing, the Oxford American and it is a top shelf room for entertainment and southern cuisine. That’s cool, but here’s the cool part. Some of you Bone Heads who have been with us for many years (we started in 1998) remember a few of our original member’s. Many of you remember the fine trombonist who was an original boneman in Bonerama, Steve Suter. After the flood in 2005, many of us had to move to other areas of the country and Steve moved to Hot Springs, AK and never moved back. He has some fabulous opportunities to play in the area and established himself up in the Little Rock/Hot Springs area as a top call player that can do every thing. That’s when Greg Hicks started playing full time with us (tho he’s been subbing for many years prior to that). We haven’t been back to Little Rock since that time and we haven’t seen Steve since then too. It was extremely delightful to have him come out to South On Main and play with us. It was like a reunion. Thanks to Steve for showing up and playing some amazing trombone with us. 1 Set: Swamped In Barrone What You See Something You Got Hard Times Funky Brown Shorts Let The Four Winds Blow The Ocean >> Cabbage Alley >> Folly >> She’s Hurting >> Blackout In New York City >> When My Dreamboat Comes Home Hoot Na Nay What The Big Chief Say Indina Red Blues For Ben >> Close The Door >>with Steve Suter on trombone
