#SouthAustralia #Weather #SevereWarning #SA #CTCorp 7:30pm Update:~~SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for DESTRUCTIVE WIND For people in the Flinders, North West Pastoral and parts of the North East Pastoral districts. Issued at 7:30 pm Friday, 31 October 2014. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h in the warning area over the next several hours, with localised very dangerous thunderstorms producing destructive wind gusts up to 135 km/h. Locations which may be affected include Woomera, Roxby Downs, Marla, Coober Pedy, Ernabella, Oodnadatta, Leigh Creek and Hawker. A wind gust of 135 km/h was recorded at Coober Pedy at 7:30pm. A wind gust of 124 km/h was recorded at Woomera at 6:30pm. Wind gusts of 80-85 km/h have occurred at Oodnadatta and Tarcoola. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Secure or put away loose items around your property. * Move cars under cover or away from trees. * Keep clear of fallen power lines. * Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby. The next warning is due to be issued by 10:30 pm. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureaus website at bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 215. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
