Southeast German Shepherd Rescue Meet Zane! Zane is a handsome fellow around 1 1/2 years old. He has a very sweet personality once he warms up to his handler. He was owner surrendered to a local shelter and rescued by SGSR after he nipped a neighbor child that had been teasing and taunting him in the yard. The yard was not fenced and the neighbor kid should not have been in the yard to begin with. After this incident, he was surrendered to the shelter. Zane is still a puppy, at heart. It seems that he was not well socialized when he was younger and many things made him nervous, at first. He now socializes great with all of his foster brothers but we have determined that due to his drive, he will not be placed with kitties or small dogs. He walks well on a leash and is fully crate and house trained. Zane lacks some confidence and would do best in a home that will continue to build his confidence. He is doing well in foster care and is willing to learn whatever is asked of him. His new family must be willing to invest in professional training with Zane as he has so much potential and really needs that confidence boost. We want to ensure Zane is the best GSD he can be and does not wind up in trouble, again through no real fault of his own. Also, his new family must have a fenced in yard and promise to make Zane an integrated family member. Older, considerate children only.
