Southern Electric were back at Fleet pond this year helping with conservation work. The North Eastern Reedbed at the reserve is being cleared of encroaching scrub and reeds, They are being cut to encourage thicker growth in the spring. This is part of the Fleet pond management plan. It is a big job and thankfully many volunteers are helping the Rangers. On Friday SSE joined rangers Rachel and Nick and on Sunday HSBC helped continued the work. This week another larger team from SSE will be back at the reserve and on Sunday the 14th the Fleet Pond Society volunteer morning will also get stuck in. A big thank you to all involved!
