Southern Emu Wren (lifer), Shipwreck Creek, Mallacoota, Vic, 2/12/2014. This was another challenging bird to not only find, but get anywhere near close. After trying to find them the afternoon before and dipping, I dragged my hubby out of bed at 4.30am the next day to get to the spot by daybreak and it paid off (well for me anyway, hes not a birder 😃). Quite heavily cropped and I was hiding behind a bush hence the blurriness in the foreground. Seeing them was a huge thrill..
