Southern Lenoir County and its people are special and unique. We are hard working, God-fearing/worshiping, family and community loving people. We arent pretentious or put on airs. Southern LENOIR County people are just good people. There are many such communities, but this community of people are just so special. Today, this group of special people came together in a throng of huge standing room only numbers to say goodbye to a very special and unique individual Joe Mike Baker who emulated all that makes Southern Lenoir County and its people so special. No one wants to attend a funeral, but this was more of a celebration of a special life by a truly wonderful community of people. It was one of the most beautiful and respectful services/celebration of someones life who loved his community, and by his community that so loved him. The service/ceremony just reinforced for me what I already knew this was a special guy this Joe Mike Baker in a community full of special people who I love dearly.
