Southern Right vs US Christian Right Ever notice how thoroughly non-Rightist in a traditional sense the US Christian Right is? Its far to the Left of the old Southern Right - which the US Christian Right killed off in the early 70s. While the Southern Right was ethno-nationalist, the US Christian Right is civic-nationalist. While the Southern Right was concerned by home and place and things right here, the US Christian Right (see Glenn Becks site for a great example of this) seems mostly concerned about defending a foreign people with an alien religion on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean. While the Southern Right embraced traditional Christianity, the US Christian Right has embraced Americanity. The longer I live the more I loath the US Christian Right and wish the Southern Right could be brought back to supplant it.
