Canberra 17 35 Weather Situation A strengthening high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge towards the northern New South Wales coast, while a trough over central parts of the state is weakening. This high is expected to be quite slow-moving over the next few days, drawing warm and increasingly humid northerly winds down from the tropics, leading to unsettled conditions in many districts. Showers and thunderstorms are likely to peak on Sunday and Monday as the next trough moves into New South Wales from the west.
