Southland Girls College Premier League; Menzies College 2 – 4 James Hargest “A” (Loss) On Wednesday Menzies College played their second game in the top 4 competition. Menzies played well in patches in the game to come out with a respectable 4 -2 loss. In the first 15mins of the game both teams played attacking football with a number of attacks at both ends which both teams could not break the 0 - 0 score-line at that stage. But the pressure finally told and James Hargest scored two well taken goals to take a 2 - 0 nil lead in at halftime. Early in the second half James Hargest scored two more goals one a 25 metre out rocket by Alex McIntosh that left Justine no chance in goal. With their backs to the wall Tomazina, Tessa and Toni came on add lifted the team and Menzies got themselves back into the match with 2 goals by Briar Leckie. Unfortunately time ran out as Menzies started to dominate the play. So well done to the girls and we look forward to our next game. Players of the Day went to Co-captains Holly Smith and Pania Rayner for their endless work in the defence and midfield.
