SpaBerry...How it all began 7 Years Ago! How it all began… Over 500 people who wanted a two person portable spa were the impetus for the very first SpaBerry and our trademark UniBody Elliptical design. It was interesting when compiling all the input from everyone in that it was if they had all cheated on the same test. The goal was to discover what people wanted and…more importantly what they didn’t want in a personal luxury spa. People told us they wanted…fewer chemicals, better insulation, portability, lighter weight, quieter running, durable enough for harsh winters…small enough for inside homes and cost under $6,000.00. They wanted the SpaBerry to fit through a standard door and be able to go vertically inside an 8’ freight elevator. People told us what they didn’t want…a wood sided spa with too much maintenance, nor another square box-like spa, nor to have to use steps to get into the spa, nor a lot of chemicals and it had to be affordable. Basically people wanted us to create what they wanted, not what was traditionally being sold to them. We believe that by listening to our customers and designing and building them what they want our chance of success would increase. It is important to always listen to the people who are going to use the products you build. This is one of our core corporate principles. There is a reason why there are fewer and fewer large spas sold every year and our customers tell us why. Big spas cost too much to buy, cost too much to set up, cost too much to operate, cost too much to own for the average person and quite frankly are just a big box full of jets. People tell us that when they sell their home that over 98% of the time they sell their big spa with their home. No one gives them anything for the used spa and it becomes a throw in with the purchase of the home. They lose all their investment for the purchase of the big spa, the electrical cost to install it and the deck or pad they had to construct to support their big spa. They tell us that 90+% of the time that they owned a big spa that there were only 1-2 people ever using it at a given time. Even families with 5-6 people in the home said the same thing. In fact, a family of 5-6 has a very tough time even agreeing on what time and what show they all want to watch on TV. That is why the average home has 3+ TV screens! People said to us if there are only 1-2 people using a spa at a given time why spend money on a big spa…it doesn’t make sense…we agreed with them...and SpaBerry became a Reality!
