Space is not empty Empty space was described as a bubbling soup - TopicsExpress

Space is not empty Empty space was described as a bubbling soup of virtual particles, popping-in and popping-out of existence, for the briefest moments of time. That is to say space is not empty. This phenomenon is known as Quantum Fluctuation. It may even responsible for the creation of the Cosmos. How do we know this? First we know the proton is made up of three elementary particles called quarks, which is about a billionth time smaller than proton in size. The combined mass of the quarks is only a very very tiny fraction of the mass of the proton. It turns out the mass of the proton is largely due to the binding energy which holds the quarks together. This massive binding force is due to the soup of virtual particles popping and out of existence. Here a video simulating this bubbling soup of virtual particles popping-in and popping-out of existence. https://youtube/watch?v=uxlOMa6pdr4
