This work is required to bring the street and track infrastructure to a state of good repair. A previous public notice was distributed on March 18, 2013. Latest Updates Construction Details Work will involve reconstruction of the TTC streetcar track, partial reconstruction of the roadway and sidewalk. Rail panels (on flatbed trucks) and other related equipment and material will be brought on-site and temporarily stored until rail installation begins. Intersection Closures August 6 to August 20, 2013: King/Spadina intersection will be fully closed to vehicle traffic in all directions. On-site signs will be posted to indicate detours. TTC work will consist of moving rail into position, rail installation and rail welding and grinding. In addition, near the end of the project, new trolley wire will be installed during nights from the intersection of Spadina and Adelaide to the intersection of King and Charlotte. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this construction work. Pedestrian Access A safety barricade fence will be placed around the intersection to provide a safe barrier between the work and pedestrians. Pedestrian access to businesses and walkways will be maintained on both sides of all roads during construction. The contractor will further notify businesses of any other temporary disruptions. Parking Restrictions Vehicle parking or standing in the active work zones will not be permitted. Vehicle access to the work limits (see map of work area, previous page) may not be possible due to space required for construction equipment and materials.
