Spartan Clean Even though we pride ourselves in maintaining spotless apparatus, our trucks can never be too shiny to help out the residents we serve, in any way we can. Thats why on Saturday December 6th, Hollywood Professional Firefighters based out of the citys Westernmost Fire Station decided to stop by a local High School Car Wash fundraiser run by Hollywood Hills Lady Spartans Softball team to help their cause, while bathing the citys Largest Truck, Ladder 45; one of the only Tractor-driven Hook & Ladder Tiller trucks operating in the state of Florida. Hollywood Professional Firefighters…ever-vigilant on ways to assist our community in emergency and non-emergency situations…spotted the Car Wash on their way to an emergency earlier in the day. While returning to quarters, the massive trucks crew made an impromptu stop at the fundraiser, and pledged to donate money they collected from the Firehouse’s “chow fund” (money collected by every member in the mornings, to pay for their own food each shift), and the rest is squeaky-clean history. After speaking to their coach, we were informed that their team holds various fundraisers every year to help them raise the funds they need for a successful softball season. The girls were terrific in their performance with our Apparatus, and we were both grateful and proud of their team. We wish them all the best! Make the West side proud, Spartans!
