Speaking at the end of his visit, Mr Burt said: “I am very pleased to be back in Tunis. Since my last visit in June I’ve been following developments in Tunisia very closely and have been in regular touch with political leaders from across the political spectrum. Today I wanted to hear firsthand about the ongoing negotiations and the prospects for a solution to the current crisis. I have emphasised to all leaders the importance of inclusive, constructive dialogue and the need for all sides to make the necessary compromises, if a solution is to be found. It is very important for Tunisia and the wider region that the transition is kept on track”.
