Speaking for myself and I dont really know how to articulate this any better... When I found out that Marty Willson Piper was no longer a member of The Church I felt a whole range of emotions and I was deeply saddened. So, when the new Church lp, their first with new guitarist Ian Haug, was released a while back I felt a sense of apprehension and confused feelings mostly due to my admiration and loyalty to Marty. I must say that I will always and forever be an appreciator of Martys work and I will support any and all of his musical endeavors as I have done for the last 30 years. Having said that, please excuse my reticence in saying that the new Church lp Further Deeper is a masterpiece. I am absolutely enthralled by every blessed second of it, in every possible way and I have already played it probably 50 times and each time I play it, another sonic,lyrical,aural revelation takes place in my brain. I have now gone further deeper...
