Speaking of Born To Run ... I was 16 years old when I saw Bruce Springsteen conquer the world at Cleveland Municipal Stadium in 1985. Forever after, my only bad take-away from that night was that he played Born To Run acoustic. Didnt see that coming. Didnt hate it but, I thought, if youre gonna play Born To Run acoustic, at least do it that way and then launch into full-on electric kick-ass Born To Run. How cool would that be?!? Thirty years later, I think that I was right and I was wrong. It wouldve so totally rocked - acoustic Born To Run into electric Born To Run. But it was the 80s. And even at 16 - or maybe especially at 16 - I was only thinking about myself. Didnt get it. Didnt yet know that yeah, baby, this town does rip the bones from your back.
