Speaking of local talent, two ladies (both of them authors) have been a great source of encouragement to me, personally. I cant tell you all the titles they have written, but I CAN tell you theyre good people. VERY good people. And they think, and they write very well! If you like to read, give them a try. I grow sort of weary of the canned predictable James Patterson (plus his stable of ghost writers.) and the way he and others of his ilk churn out stuff routinely, according to pattern. How about a taste of a talented amateur whos just as dedicated to his or her craft. . . and far more appreciative and perhaps needing, and more deserving of your support. Scuse me. I sort of got carried away there. The two ladies about whom I was speaking earlier are: DEBORAH McKNIGHT & CAROLYN HOLLAND. They dont write the same kind of stuff I write, but theyre good at what they do. Dont get in a rut. Try someone new.
