Special Monday: First day at University_ Krriing….krriing….went my alarm o’clock. It’s a Monday morning, This Monday is a special Monday to me. It’s the first day of my life at the university. I’m very excited that finally I shall start classes as a PG student. But at the same time a little nervous b’coz I’m going to meet new people, people I never interacted with before. I have a million questions in my mind like how are they receive me? Am I the only alien in the class?? Anyway, I get myself ready for class, I checked my timetable & my first class. After reaching the classroom, I decided to take a seat at the middle of the class. The teacher continues teaching. At first I try to understand what the presentation is about. I turn to my desk mate & ask him what the teacher is talking about; he turns to me & politely tells me, “sorry, I can’t understand you”. I try to paraphrase the question & ask him again, but this time he tells me, “ Yes, he is our teacher”. This time really confused . I wander what’s wrong with him!! Finally, I turn to my desk mate on the right & she is a girl. I first smile to her, & then she shy’s off & smiles looking away. I ask her the same question I asked first. She tells me the teaching is The Foundation of International Relations. After that, I try to listen to what the teacher is teaching & I turn on the book to understand what the teaching is saying. Anyway, after a couple of minutes, the class is over & is more confused than I came in. This is the story of my first day’s first class at Deptt of Political Science, Bodoland University, kokrajhar.
