Special Operations Bureau Update Due to complaints of thefts from unlocked vehicles in a neighborhood near Redlands High School, RPD conducted a specialized investigation that resulted in the arrest of an 18 year old gang member for stealing items from a vehicle in the 600 block of Roosevelt. Detectives arrested two subjects for stripping copper wire at a construction site located on the northside of town. Detectives were able to identify the subject after viewing surveillance photos taken at the time of the theft. Detectives arrested a female subject for cashing a fraudulent check at a Redlands bank. The Redlands Animal Shelter adopted out 11 cats and 18 dogs last week. The current population of the shelter is 78 cats and 38 dogs. RPD would like to remind residents to take advantage of the “While You’re Away” program which was implemented to help give residents a peace of mind while they are away on vacation.
