Special Rapp Sheet - Thursday, June 12, 2014 Dear SUMC Family, This coming Sunday, June 15, 2014 will be the last Sunday for Pastor Angel Martinez as our Associate Pastor for Hispanic/Latino Ministry. Angel will be transitioning along with his wife Lydia to Lydia’s new appointment as Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in Alexandria. Angel has served our congregation with great passion and love for the past year. We are deeply grateful to God for his ministry. He and Lydia will be deeply missed. We would like to express our appreciation to Angel by several means. First we will place a basket in the narthex this Sunday morning where we will collect cards from the congregation. Please bring a card to express your love and appreciation. Second we will also have picture frame that will contain a beautiful picture of our church with a white matte where members can sign or write a brief message to Angel and Lydia. This will also be available in the narthex throughout the morning for everyone to sign. We will present this to Angel at the afternoon service. Angel and Lydia’s responsibilities at Arlington UMC will prevent them from being present at our three morning services. However there will be a special moment during the 1:00 PM Amigos service to honor Pastor Angel and Lydia.
