Teacher: Cotey Bucket YOUTH AGES 8-14 YEARS In this four-part class we will go through the stages of: ~Building an inspiration archive ~Developing a story outline based on images ~Writing and illustrating from rough to finished ~Collating and stitch-binding the finished product A super fun exploration into story telling and book making this class is great for all levels of experience. Saturday January the 18th Day 1: We’ll start our journey by exploring the variety of media available at the studio and amassing a diverse collection of images and words that help to prompt the creation of our stories and the content of their images. Saturday January the 25th Day two: we’ll be creating the outlines and roughs for our stories. So much of writing is rewriting and this process can hold true in the realm of illustration as well. We’ll develop a storyboard based on rough compositional thumbnails, and use that to guide the mixture of word and image we’d like to finish with. February the 1st Day three: We’ll start by discussing any corrections or changes we’d like to make since the previous week. And then it’s noses to the grindstone, working out all finished writing and illustration. February the 8th Day four: The grand finally. We’ll start the day by finishing up any undone work, and then move on to designing and creating our covers.
