Special air quality statement for: Acadian Peninsula Bathurst and Chaleur region Campbellton and Restigouche County Edmundston and Madawaska County Grand Falls and Victoria County Miramichi and area Mount Carleton - Renous Highway Stanley - Doaktown - Blackville Area Woodstock and Carleton County On Monday a northwesterly flow out of Quebec will transport smoke into Northern New Brunswick from several large forest fires between Labrador and James Bay. Satellite imagery and model guidance shows that it is currently north of the St. Lawrence River, and the smoke should begin to reach the Bay of Chaleur by late Monday morning or possibly earlier. At this point it is too early to estimate how thick the smoke will be near the ground. Late on Monday the smoke may move into Southern New Brunswick.
