Special guests at this year’s event will be Luzine Bickham Sr., Ph.D., and Lt. Col. David Marston. They will participate in a moderated discussion about the Tuskegee Airmen beginning around noon. Bickham is the last surviving, congressionally recognized member of the famous Tuskegee Airmen and recipient of the U.S. Congressional Gold Medal of Honor. He will share his personal journey as a member of this elite group of World War II pilots whose exemplary record helped lead to the desegregation of the military. Marston is a third-generation member of the U.S. Air Force, and his father and uncle were members of the Tuskegee Airmen. He will share the history of the Tuskegee Flight School before, during and after WWII. Three large replicas of the combat planes that played historical significance in the Tuskegee program will be on display outside Hickey Auditorium, courtesy of Marston. Bickham and Marston will be available afterwards for pictures, autographs and additional questions. The event will also include: Lunch and refreshments for the first 200 people to arrive Door prizes and drawings Museum exhibits and interactive challenges A performance by the MD Anderson Employee Choir
