Speech generating devices (SGDs) are vital communication tools for people with ALS and other neurological disabilities. As a doctor, I see how technological advancements, like SGDs, empower patients and increase their quality of life. That is why I recently signed onto a bipartisan letter to the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) asking the agency to explain policy decisions that would limit patient access to these important technologies.
