Speech: what is something you wear? Jack: shorts, he says and writes (not very pretty, but he does write!) Speech asks a few more questions and Jack provides and writes an answer, some appropriate to share and some not! But there is a funny one, remember he is 18 and he isnt thrilled he was in an accident and here, though he is sweet to others, he would rather be back in his life pre-accident ... Speech: what is a four letter word? (Really, couldnt they have asked for a three or five letter word?!!!) Jack: shit Jack started his day with PT, though he is still very tired today!! He ended his session 10 minutes early. His next session was OT, again he was very sleepy and hard to get him up and moving, his session was only 15 minutes, then a 2.5 hour nap and speech. He was a little more alert and then the recreation therapist came into chat and asked Jack about himself, what he likes, etc. Jack really enjoyed her (Laura) - very athletic minded and fun gal. Jack really liked her. Then, Jack needed more rest! John and Kelly met with the care team (a weekly meeting with all therapists, rehab doc, etc.) which was helpful in so many ways! One of the outcomes, they are adjusting his meds, especially his pain meds, to try and get a little more awake time for therapies. This started today. Grandma was with Jack during the evening hours and John is with him for the night.
