Spending some great quality time at the beach for the next couple days where I find so much peace. It really puts things into focus for me as I step out of the flow of everyday life that awaits me back at home. I woke up pretty early this morning and went out on the balcony where I found my Uncle Val sitting there in peace, drinking coffee, and just looking off at the ocean in all its greatness. We had a remarkable conversation about different elements of life. We talked a lot about people, relationships, spirituality, love, and how we interact with and view one another. One thing he told me specifically was, We tend to view ourselves through a telescope, yet while viewing others through a microscope. This really resonated well with me, and jumped out to me. Holding true to the principles of loving your neighbor and being selfless to one another is something I value deeply. I dont know the exact details of what my life has in store for me, but I find much peace knowing that my life doesnt have to revolve around myself in order to find happiness. Wherever my life takes me, I would like to know that I helped someone when they needed it more than myself. That putting all things aside, I was the best possible person I could be to them. That I was there for someone regardless of who they were and where they had been. And striving for all this while knowing that like everyone else, I make mistakes and I can potentially (and will) stray from these ideals from time to time. But then waking up each day and attempting to be the best I can to others all over again. I truly am reminded of how blessed I am for the people who have been placed within my life at different times. Without them, I could never be where I am today.
