Spent a beautiful Saturday reorganizing the photo boards in the hallway at our office. We had run out of cork boards and needed to add several more to the hallway. Had the help of my dear midwife friends, Kim Trower and Danielle Gilbert. We had hours of girl talk, reminisced about funny, dramatic, and challenging births. I organized all of the birth announcements, holiday cards, and birth photos that families have given me over the years. The oldest photo was 14 years old this week! Its hard to believe Ive had the awesome privilege of bringing babies earth side for 14 years. As I write this, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude for this calling in my life. It has at times been heart wrenching, physically exhausting, emotionally demanding beyond what I thought I was capable of, but I know this is my calling. It is one of the many awe inspiring fortunes of my life that I found this work at such a young age. Wanted to say thank you to the mothers, fathers, and babies that have chosen to let me be a guide through their incredible journey of pregnancy, birth, and getting to know their newborn.
