Spent a restful, rainy Memorial day watching off & on, a marathon - TopicsExpress

Spent a restful, rainy Memorial day watching off & on, a marathon of War movies...John Wayne in The Longest Day, Nicholas Cage in Windtalkers, Mel Gibson in We Were Soldiers & taking another break just now from Ben Affleck in Pearl Harbor. Cant stop comparing the similarities to our Fight(ing) the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have confessed so well before many witnesses. (I Timothy 6:12) We must USE what weve learned in basic training & follow the instructions & lead of THE Commander. We are always stronger when we stand together with our brothers-in-arms. I googled to find out which war had the highest American casualties & it was the Civil War. Americans fighting Americans...650,000 deaths. This ironically made me think about the fighting within the ranks. What is causing the quarrels and fights among you?... (James chapter 4) Ultimately I thought about the believers battle against the enemy & the promised Victory, that mostly requires WAY less of us & WAY More of Him. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you... (2 Chronicles 20:17) In this particular verse, the Spirit of prophecy came on a Levite in the middle of the congregation. The Spirit, like the wind, blows where & on whom He pleases. Here He encouraged them to trust in God. When we as soldiers, trusting the LORD, come against spiritual enemies, the God of peace will make us more than a conqueror. (Romans 8:37) What we have gained from our trials/basic training, give us the advantage but the glory in Victory belongs to Jesus. Let the soldiers of Christ rest on His Word & by the favor of God let enemies be lost & friends be gained! ...If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31 ~ Enjoy whats left of your holiday my fb friends
