Spent a special Thanksgiving in Roanoke, VA at son Jeffs home with Janet and Aunt Judy. Jeff doesnt do anything small! The turkey for four people was nineteen pounds! Sides included, homemade cranberry sauce, Pennsylvania Dutch dried corn, mashed sweet potatoes, Brussels sprout casserole, bread filling and sour dough rolls. The feast included bottles of red and white wine. This all topped off with pumpkin pie, chocolate truffle (included pieces of Reeses peanut butter cups, Hersey Chocolate and much more) and --- aw just too much to remember. Daughter Cheryl from Alabama had to cancel because of weather conditions. The Glen Elyn Tabacks and Brian from San Francisco will be coming east for Christmas. The were missed. We left Wednesday morning with remnants of the storm coming from the south. We hit snow shores seventy-four miles north of Roanoke but because the temperature hovered between thirty-three and thirty-five the roads stayed relatively dry. Thursday and Friday were beautiful days. Thank you Jeff for all the hard work.
