Spent the afternoon with Mum at the Bandstand In Deal listening to the wonderful Royal Marines. Its been 25 years since an IRA bomb killed 11 musicians. Wreaths were laid part way through the performance; amazing to be amongst so many people in total silence after the last post was sounded. They were also commemorating 100 years since WW1 and 350 years of Naval history. Lots of rousing marches and plenty of songs for Mum to sing along to. We even sang Deliah with the chap who actually wrote the song. Our only disappointment was the no show of the Spitfire and Hurricane owing to the weather. A lame excuse... My close up video of the band failed but this snippet has an awesome saxophonist!
