Spent the day at the movie theater watchgin 3 movies. First was Dracula Untold. Im all for spinning a story a new way, but would people please stop making vampire sympathetic! Vampires are suposed to be evil, not lovelorn, not sparkly...they are damnation with fangs. If in doubt, please reference Lost Boys! Second movie was a kids flick, very cute, called Earth for Echo...totally Goonies meets E.T., but fun. There was even a chase scene where theyre crawling over fences up and down, just like the bike chase scene in E.T. Last was a Korean movie called 제보자 (Whistle Blower). Its about the cloning scandal of 2005 where a prominent Korean scientist published false claims that he had cloned a stem cell line. A whistle blower went to a reporter and told him it had all been faked and when the story broke it caused a big scandal because.he had paid women for their eggs (which Korean law had forbid as it was tantamount to organ harvesting) and of course he lied about the whole thing. There were huge protests against the News Station and many people lost their jobs. The reason it was such a big deal is summed up in a question asked by the whistle blower himself, Which is more important? Truth? Or national Interest? This was a really good dramatization. Korea LOVES their true stories!
