Spent the day up at the hospital with Shilo Wilson - turns out his knee injury is more serious than first thought. In fact, he shldve been admitted straight away when it happened 2 wks ago. Major surgery ahead for him - damage to ligaments (ACL/PCL) & soft tissue, microfractures to tibial plateau & possibly some cartilage damage. Not much chance of actually being able to repair it all, his knee will never be normal & the surgeon said it is unlikely he will ever be able to play league or contact sports again. Hes in Ward 6 at Waikato Hospital & will be there for next couple of weeks. So, I missed ra nehu for Aunty Daph today but my thoughts were with everyone at Taupiri. Such a beautiful woman with a big heart and smile to match. Moe mai ra e te Whaea.
