Spent the day with my black powder shooting club the Ft. Hill Ramrods in Hillsboro, MO; flint or percussion lock only with a patched round ball . There were fifteen rifle shots, eight pistol shots, the knife and tomahawk throw and fire-start with flint and steel for time. The competition was fierce and sticking the tomahawk in the target once more than I did spelled the difference between first and second place (215 vs. 205 points). Those thirty-something guys are getting harder to beat! The weather held off just long enough and raindrops were falling as I got to my car. Great day!
