Spent the last two hours working on my computer. At first, my system wouldnt go past the HP splash screen, and could access the Setup Utility. Successfully fixed that issue. Now Im working on the issue Im having where when it tries to start Windows, it crashes and I get the dreaded Blue Screen of Death, with the stop message "an attempt was made to Write to Read Only Memory" I tried booting into Safe Mode...same story. Then tried changing a BIOS setting that eliminates the PATA Bus...got a different stop message "BAD_POOL_HEADER" but when I try Safe Mode itll boot Could use some input from my computet savyy friends. HP Pavilion a1723w Windows Vista Only recent hardware change is a swapped DVD-RW drive...hence why I tried bypassing the PATA bus.
