Spent this past weekend getting the food plots for deer tilled, fertilized, planted and such. After a Spring of planting and harvesting for us human folks its nice to do it for the critters. Considering that I havent harvested a deer in three years or so it is obvious that I like the other stuff almost as much. At the end of the work day there is nothing more fun than chasing the cooler...full of ice cold beer through the woods and over the hills to the camp to drink a cold one, in the Louisiana heat, and remind ourselves that all of our hard work on stands, plantings and such are fixing to (a phrase that still drives my school-teacher mother nuts..but one you have to carry in your red-neck arsenal) get into some serious hunting/camping weather. Anyway....I love driving a tractor and 4-wheeler and doing all of the hunting/camp prep work...probably more than the hunting. Nothing like a great day in the great outdoors and many, many thanks to my good friend Mike Lewis and his dad for letting me get in on a good thing;)
