Spent this teacher appreciation evening discussing the finer points of pedagogy, theology, philosophy and truly terrible karaoke with a precious friend. Though wed known each other for awhile, this friendship was truly forged while navigating middle school hallways together, weeping ad praying over students we loved and shared. As we shut down two restaurants in a short three and a half hour dinner on this national teacher appreciation day, I am thankful tonight for the colleagues and friends who walk this crazy journey of education alongside of me, giving me the strength and courage to press on when the days are weary and the travel is hard. And especially to you, Jamie Fisher Powell...happy day. I sure do appreciate you!
