Spent yesterday at the Alabama Medicinal Plant Growers Association meeting...Nice turnout, with a lot of new growers from the southeastern area of Alabama. Glad to see those folks and hope they keep coming. The program included a great demo on herb vinegars - think I may try doing a couple of those in addition to tinctures, salves, infused oils and teas. There was also a fascinating tour of the Chilton Food innovation Center. Growing and using herbs is all well and good, but it sure would be nice to have locally produced herbal products available in Alabama (or even in the southeast region). Having a good, clean place to prepare and package foods efficiently (and this kitchen can do it) is a real plus.
