Spice biscuits Ingredients: 250g butter 2 eggs 2x ¾ cup coconut 2 Tbsp Cinnamon 3 & ¼ cup flour 1 cup castor sugar 8 tsp custard powder 4 tsp mixed spice 2 tsp baking powder Method: Cream butter and castor sugar. Add egg. Add custard powder, mixed spice and cinnamon. Add baking power and flour to make soft dough. Date & Nut Biscuits 250g butter ½ cup castor sugar 2 large eggs 1 cup dates (chopped) 1 cup coconut 1 cup pecan nuts Pinch of salt 1 tsp baking powder 2 ½ cups flour Pre heat oven 180C. beat the butter and castor sugar together. Add the eggs and dates and mix well. Combine with rest of the dry ingredients to complete to complete the dough. Pat the dough into a greased +- 35 cm x 25cm oven pan. Bake at 170C for +-20 minutes till the colour changes and the biscuits if firm to touch. Sprinkle with castor sugar while still hot. Or when cool dust with icing sugar. ADD REST OF THE INGREDIENTS TO MAKE A DOUGH PIPE OUT IN SHAPES AND BAKE IN A MODERATE OVEN UNTIL LIGHTLY BROWN.DUST ICING SUGAR LIGHTLY OVER BISCUITS horseshoe recipe ½ lb butter or margarine 1 large fresh cream 2 ½ cups four. Sift flour into a dish & mix with ¼ lb butter. To resemble bread crumbs. Make soft dough using enough fresh cream. Roll out dough 3 times. On the 3rd time grate remaining butter & fold up & leave in fridge for a while. Roll out big & sprinkle castor sugar mixed with sugar. To fold u must fold both ends to the center and fold one on top of the other. Slice, dip top in castor sugar or sugar. & bake with the dipped side up.
