SpiceJet Offers Fares From Rs 1,888 in Festive Season Offer NDTV | Updated:August 25, 2014 10:22 IST Budget carrier has come out with yet another discount offer. Under the festive season offer, SpiceJet is offering all-in fares from Rs 1,888. This limited-period offer is valid on booking till August 27, 2014 (inclusive) and travel between September, 25, 2014 and January, 15, 2015 (both dates inclusive). This sale offer is valid for bookings made on SpiceJets domestic network. SpiceJet has been one of the most aggressive carriers in offering discount schemes. SpiceJet started the fare war in January with up to 50 per cent discounted fares which was followed up all other airlines including the national carrier Air India. Since then SpiceJet has launched move than a dozen discount sales schemes. For July, SpiceJet beat its bigger rival IndiGo in flight occupancy for the second month in a row. Among Indian carriers, SpiceJet had the highest flight occupancy of 79.4 per cent in July, according to data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). However, in terms of number of passengers carried, IndiGo remains the biggest domestic carrier. In July, IndiGo carried 16 lakh passengers as compared to 10.92 lakh for SpiceJet. This gives IndiGo a market share of 30.7 per cent as compared to 20.9 per cent for SpiceJet, which overtook Jet Airways as the No. 2 player in India in terms of passengers carried. SL Narayanan, group CFO of Sun Group, which owns the airline, says cheaper tickets have helped increase the flight occupancy rate.
