Spiders Creation When a spider weaves a web, it is for 1 purpose - TopicsExpress

Spiders Creation When a spider weaves a web, it is for 1 purpose alone: to catch prey. But we have taken that image of the web & reworked it into a variety of images. Of spider-beings in mythos, African Anansi is renowned for his ability to weave words well, while Arachne in Greek lore was turned into a spider for being a better weaver than Athena, & the Navajo Grandmother Spider was said to create the entire world from her silk. And today we have the virtual World Wide Web to connect us together. We extrapolate this all from the spiders single-use hunting net, a testament to our own cleverness. We must remember that for all its beauty, the web does cost the spider in energy & protein to make the silk itself. This is a reminder that to create anything, no matter how marvelous, there is an investment that must be made, & we shouldnt take that for granted. If you see a spider in your home, leave it be unless it is a poisonous species, as it will help keep the insects away. But if you find an abandoned web, you can collect it to add a bit of creative energy to magical pouches & other talismans, with a quiet thanks to the spider who made it.
