Spike Lees Eternal War On Black Men With the howling over racial profiling its as if we are supposed to think that it is anyone else but blacks committing crime wildly out of proportion to their percentage of the population. When most crimes are committed by blacks, it makes no sense at all to assume they won’t be arrested and incarcerated in disproportionate numbers, and more closely scrutinized by law enforcement than other ethnicities. Dig, if you will, this ignorant and inflammatory statement from a race-hustling celebrity moron: Filmmaker Spike Lee weighed in on the death of Michael Brown and said the “uprising” in Ferguson, Mo., is in response to years of racial tension and mistreatment towards the black community in the United States. “When people get to a point — to that tipping point — they can’t take it anymore,” Lee said on CNN on Tuesday, listing the tragedies involving Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Rodney King, and others. While he seemed to disapprove of looting and burning property, Lee also said that he “just hope[s] that things will really blow up if people aren’t happy with the verdict of this upcoming trial.” The deaths of Brown, Martin, Garner, and others are extreme examples of a growing trend in America, he continued. “I just think there is a war on the black male, and it’s tearing the country apart, in my opinion,” Lee said. “It’s not just killing us — it’s educational system, it’s the prison system, it’s these young black men growing up with no hope. It’s systematic.” It surely is that; Lee, for once in his embittered life, is factually correct. But it fairly well screams the question at thinking people: AND JUST WHOSE SYSTEM WOULD THAT BE, SPIKE? Who created the system that enslaves black males–strips them of their power, their dignity, their freedom, and their hope, encouraging them to trade those most worthy things for a mess of welfare pottage? Who encourages blacks to think of themselves first, last, and always as victims and not agents of their own destiny, when the REAL victimization is being done via the stratagem of encouraging them to remain within the barely-comfortable confines of the cycle of dependency? Who perpetuates and compounds the victimization by pimping a false narrative and inciting barely literate and wholly uninformed malingerers to violence and riot–lashing out at the very people who provide food, goods, services, and jobs to their own damned community? The answer is all too obvious, and anyone even slightly confused by it is hereby referred to the LBJ quote ,I’ll have those niggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years. You are encouraged to spend some time pondering it. It really does say it all, and the subsequent history speaks for itself – whether you have the courage and integrity to recognize that tragic, inconvenient, unspeakable truth or not.
