Leadership is a potent combination of character and strategy. But if you must be without one be without strategy (General Norman Schwarkopt.) Many are casualties because they chose strategy at the expense of character e.g. Saul, Nabal. I Sam. 25:2,3,9,11. Much of the talk about repackaging is good but if our character is not repackaged the whole exercise will not last.THERE is NO QUICK FIX. You may never be able to fix certain issues until your character is fixed. Any man who seeks happiness progress, success etc. by seeking to change anything but his own disposition will waste his life in fruitless efforts and multiply the grief he wants to remove. Character, in the long run, is the decisive factor in the life of an individual, family, church, nation etc. The greatest donation or contribution you can make in your ministry, marriage etc. is your character. 90% of all leadership failures are character failures. (R. Covey in the 8th habit). For effective life and ministry character must be match with competence. Dan. 6:3-5
