The song is available to purchase now ahead of a traditional release in January 2014, by buying via the crowd funding site Indiegogo for $5 USD BUY IT HERE: igg.me/at/the-ball/x/5478814 Said Justin Sullivan” In Spring 2012 we were approached by Fernando Godoy about writing a song for the Spirit Of Football - a non-profit organisation which runs workshops with children in several countries and celebrates the International love of the game across the world. Based in Brazil (where New Model Army has long had a significant following), Fernando is a one-time professional player, NMA fan and philanthropist. For us it came at an interesting time, just as we were rebuilding our studio after a fire in which we lost everything and immediately after we were joined by our new bassist Ceri Monger (who also plays bodhran on the song). We were yet to begin writing what became Between Dog And Wolf and this was a perfect way to get back into recording. Quite apart from the fact that four out of five members of the band love football, we also saw it as an interesting project to try to come up with something that worked as a football song but was still NMA. The process was quick and a lot of fun. Said Fernando Godoy, Spirit of Football: “NMA and SOF share in the ideals of independence, honesty, passion at work and always giving our best.
