Spirit vs World? This is the bottom line! This is what our lives are all about. Many have unanswered questions such as: Who am I? and What am I doing here? Then we may say: What is my purpose in life? or: What is life and what is it all about? First of all you must realize there are two realms or planes of existence. (Jn. 3:12). You have the world of the spirit and the world of the flesh. Our flesh bodies cannot enter into heaven but our spirit can. Our spirit cannot enter into heaven as yet because certain things still remain to be completed. Abraham, Moses, Lazarus and the others are not in heaven as yet. Samuel is not there either, as you know, he asked Saul why his slumber was being disturbed. (1 Sam. 28:15). Let us look at John 3:12. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? Here is a fact that shows that there are two realms or worlds or planes of existence. It names them as: earthly and heavenly. I see it as worldly and spiritual. Let us paraphrase this. If I talk about worldly facts and you cannot understand them, how could you possibly understand spiritual facts that are similar by design? Our earthly or worldly life is but a shadow of the reality that is the spiritual or heavenly life. So the answer to all these questions is this: We have been created by God to bring constant glory and recognition to the true facts that God is real and alive and loves us all. He wants us to do His work and will and not our own works or will. This means we should obey Him in all things and return to Him our love and gratitude.
