Spiritual Blessings! (continued) Spiritual Songs! “And do not be drunk with wine, in which there is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” – Ephesians 5:18-19 If you have accepted Jesus as your savior and are fed by the manna that comes from heaven, you cannot be unhappy in this world. You will sing praises to Him for God has done several miracles in your life. Many saints of God wrote songs of praise, these songs which come from a grateful heart are acceptable to Him. There was a merchant in Rayapuram. He was thrilled when he heard about Jesus and the great sacrifice that he did on the cross. He spent long hours in meditation and prayer. God gave him a vision in which Jesus asked him what he wants. The merchant said, “Lord give me a grateful heart” Many people sing songs of praise but the important question is whether they come from a grateful heart? Paul and Silas were put in prison but their happiness was not destroyed. Though their legs and hands were placed in the stocks, they opened their mouths and sang songs of praise. God sent an earthquake and the doors of the prison were opened. Dear brother, if you have a grateful heart, you will face difficulties with a smile, you will sing praises to Him, your praises will unlock the power of God. When King Jehoshaphat ruled Israel, the Amorites and the Moabites came against him. The king was not afraid. He asked the people to sing praises to God, they sang, “The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever." There was no need for Jehoshaphat to fight; God gave him a remarkable victory. Dear friend, do not be afraid when the people of the world rise up against you. Exercise your faith on Jesus and sing praises to his name. God will deliver you and give you victory.
